Katrina's 'Dhoom' Different From Aishwarya's

The change has started taking place and the signature title track of Dhoom 3 with Katrina Kaif in there is quite different from the version that Aishwarya Rai had danced to in Dhoom 2.

"In both its versions, one with Esha Deol and another with Tata Young, Dhoom Machale was a huge hit back then in 2004 and is played till date. Later when the film's sequel arrived in 2006, the song was remixed and a slightly different version was included for Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai. However the overall theme had remained intact. That is not the case in the newest outing for Dhoom 3 as composer Pritam, who has been a constant factor right through the franchise, has come up with a vastly revised tune for Katrina Kaif," comments an observer.

One wonders whether it was Aamir's quest for creativity that led to the change being brought to a tune that has stayed popular for close to a decade. However if source close to the makers are to be believed, Aditya Chopra as well as others associated with the film were thrilled with the 'thrilling' tune that Pritam came up with.

"Adi as well as director Vijay Krishna Acharya were of a strong view that it was important to bring about this change," the source adds, "In the decade gone by, there has been a shift in the music trends and the tastes of the audiences. It was prudent that a new sound was introduced so that film as well as its background score gets further edge before 2013 comes to a close."

To retain the familiarity factor though, the chorus has been retained so to lend a sense of Dhoom franchise in the offering.

With Katrina Kaif dancing like there was no tomorrow and the music video of Dhoom bearing an international touch to it, one waits to see the kind of massive distance it manages to cover when compared to what Aishwarya's song had done back then.
